Recently, China IPPR won the tender for the reconstruction and extension project of the capital international airport of Sao Tome and Principe aided by China.
As China’s first aid project to Sao Tome and Principe, it is a tribute project for the resumption of diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level between China and Sao Tome and Principe, which had been suspended for 20 years.

The project aims to modernize the airport, including the reconstruction of the existing terminal, the construction of a new energy station, the extension of the runway in the flight zone, expansion of the parking area, fuel supply, lighting and other equipment and facilities. After completion, it can meet the requirements of flight to level 4E, improve the country's transport infrastructure, promote the national standard of living and economic and social development, help improve the country's image and strengthen its right to participate in decision-making in international and regional affairs.
